Reduce and Reuse

My studio is solar-powered and I minimise water usage when steaming, dyeing and laundering. Water-based stiffeners, dyes and cleaning agents are used in the studio, that have little or no impact on the environment.

Great care is taken to use recycled or reclaimed synthetics and animal products whenever possible. I enjoy re-using, repurposing, and reinventing with resources saved from landfill.

Most stitching is done by hand, together with moulding and shaping. When machine-stitching is needed, I rely on one of my antique Singer machines that are still going strong after more than 100 years.
